2002 Mazda Tribute Repair Question
Mileage: 89,000 miles.
Misfire on #5 cylinder
Answer
Low compression does not necessarily mean a bad head and I don't see why it is necessary. It could be the valves or piston rings.
Since vehicle was not driven for some time, a little running might get the compression back.
had to change coil and plug on that cylinder 4 months ago only started to misfire after filling fuel tank any other suggestions
Get another compression test and see if the compression is not up, try a wet test. The misfiring could be due to excessive fuel in cylinder causing the drop in compression pressure.
Are there any trouble codes and was the fuel injector checked/tested?
Mazda tribute low compression problems
don't brake you head just listen to the professionals and you will learn
have a compression test if fail don't waste you time, the time chain last a life time and 99% are the possibilities that you have a bad head or gasket problem, just a high price for not checking you fluids
