Last week a friend replaced the neutral safety switch on my 2002 ford windstar lx. Ever since the fuel gauge does not work. The rear lights do not come on, the overhead light does not work, the automatic locks do not work, several warning lights are on on the dash including the door ajar light, low fuel light, etc. He replaced the neutral safety switch because the shifter would not move out of park. It still will not unless I turn the key straight up, put it into neutral and then turn it on.

The shift interlock is linked to the brake switch, Are the brake lights working? Is there any clicking noise when brake pedal is depressed with ignition switch turned ON (brake lights must come on)?

For the indicator lights and non working lights, check for blown fuses and rear electronic module at rear quarter panel if fuses are good.

If problem started after replacement of the PNP switch, recheck the work and see if any ground circuit or wireharness had not been securey reinstalled.
