While driving my 2002 Ford Focus last night, in a series of events, my car shut down. First i noticed the headlights going dim, the dashboard lights went dim, the radio shut off, the car started sputtering, the speedometer stoppped working and approx 1 mile later, the car shut down. I waited approx 10 min, restarted the car and drove an approx 1 mile before the whole process started over again. Once again, I waited for about another 10 min and the car restarted again. But this time I just cut it off in fear of causing possible major damage. Over the weekend I had the battery recharged and the Car worked fine for about 2 day (up til last night). Any idea what this problem could be?

Have the battery and alt checked and let me know what you find.

Ok. I will. Could it possibly be an electrical problem as well?

The battery needs load tested and the alt needs analyzed via test equipment. Most parts stores will do it for free.
