My 2002 ford explorer sport trac is in need of some repair I think. I went to turn it on, and was making a sort of wheezing, I shut the truck off and the engine kept going, (I opened the hood and the belt was still rotating) even after I took the key out

All the information I know is in the question provided

I attempted to shut the vehicle off, but it wouldn't. I took the key out of the ignition, but the belt continued rotating, making the wheezing noise, but a little less forced.

I did here a pop on the right side of it on my back from school, but I thought it was a rock popping up from my tire, so I didn't pay it much mind, and I didn't hear anything different from my car at the time. I hope this extra bit may help a little.
