I have a 2002 ford explorer xlt, and any time your put the air condition or the defrost on, the engine will cut off if you are stopped, or if you are traveling less than 10 miles an hour. It only cuts off if it is on a/c or defrost. Also, if you have it on max a/c, after a few minutes, the ac will still be running, and fan motor will still be goin, but it wont blow any air out of the vents, then when you switch it back to regular a/c, the air starts working again

Do you have a check engine light on and with codes that may be related to a vacuum leaks
and if so should start with that
locate and fix the vacuum leak
if not suspect bad IAC valve
you may remove it and clean or replace it

also drop glove box check for broken door or a vacuum
