Where is it on an 02? My manual shows where it is on earlier models but has no info about mine, even the electrical diagrams are for older models. I have searched the net and still not exactly sure which is the auto shutdown relay. I have checked the fuse center and swapped some around because they are the same and no luck

It is in the integrated power module located on the left side of the engine compartment. Here is a picture:

Let me know if this helps.

If you have power to the coil wire brown and white I recommend you check the coil driver circuit within the computer. No power to the coil check and test the ASD Relay and for an open wire

If ipm and pdc are the same yes I have changed out the ones marked relays with ones that work. Still get the code 1388 on the odometer doing the key bump and no power coming to my coil. I haven't tried hooking up my scanner again because I forgot to bring it with me. Will try unhooking the "appears to be damaged" tcm like previously mentioned and see if I still get the error "not odb compatible".

Should I trace the dk grn/org wire from the power dist center to the asd and even to the coil like my manual shows? Would be odd a light accident would break this wire though.

A friend said crankshaft sensor but no code for this and from reading the manual it says the pdc will shut off power to the coil, the fuel injectors and fuel pump. I can rule this out because my fuel pump turns on when the key is on? This code should also be shown when I do the key bump test correct? Or how many codes will it show? All of them?

You guys are great. Donation coming your way when I get paid! Thanks for the help. Hopefully I get this solved soon :(

My Caravan 3.3 L is not getting spark. I removed the ignition coil and ECU unit, however, parts store was unable to test either component. Wanted to know if there is a way for me to test these components at home, and if so, how are they tested?

Thank you

Electrical problem
2001 Dodge Caravan 6 cyl Front Wheel Drive Automatic 169000 miles

The other day while driving down the highway, it just quit! No warning no hesitation, it was just like someone switched off the ignition. I have a code scanner, but no codes are stored on the computer. Which is actually kind of strange, because there has been an error code relating to emmisions for about a year, and it isn't coming up either. I have repaced the coil, and was going to try replacing the crankshaft sensor, but am now wondering if it is the computer. Is this something I can just buy and install, or is there programming required?

Hey rasmataz!

Thanks for the quick reponses! I have now replaced the cam and crank sensors. Still no luck! I also have inquired at both the major auto parts stores in the city, and neither of them have any listing for the PCM module. Does this mean it is dealer only? Looks like I am going to have to bite the bullet and take it to a garage!

Thanks

Hi, was driving down the road van quit running. Coil is new wires plugs all new. Got a crank sensor went to install it noticed wire at the plug were bare. Repaired the damage. Van starts runs fine. Leave my garage go for a drive it is fine. Come home shut if off then restart and misfiring. No codes at all no spark on cylinder four only. Stumped. Assuming a wire problem again. This collection is less then a week old.

Thanks

Hello, I can tell you what codes mean, but, if your saying there is no spark at the plugs, with the vehicle cranking. I'd check the no spark problem first.

I'd check the primary circuits at the coil pack. Go from there.
