6 cyl - - oil gauge shows little to no pressure - Changed oil every 3000 miles since new. What new part do I need? At first start up in a.M. Oil gauge registers very little pressure and when I slow down, gauge drops to 0 and "check gauges" light comes on. After restart, oil gauge shows correct pressure.

This could be just a faulty sensor, so we need to start by checking the pressure with a mechanical gauge and see if this says the same thing.

Here is a guide that will help with this issue:

Once we know what the pressure gauge says we will have a better idea which direction to go.

However, I am attaching the info below on this including the pressure spec and how the sender works.

Basically, we could have a sender, wiring, PCM, or gauge issue so let's start with checking the actual pressure and go from there. If the pressure is fine on the mechanical gauge, then we need to turn our focus to the PCM.

Let me know what questions you have.

Thanks
