Before shifting and then the RPMs stay really high

What would cause the throttle to open really wide for a while before shifting and then the rpms stay really high. Also there is a little knocking also there is a little knocking noise that I hear all the time. Any ideas?

Have the transmission checked out sounds like its a shift solenoid, Have it checked anfd replaced if needed.

Make sure the trottle cable isnt sticking.
