Squealing noise

2001 ford taurus has a squealing noise around the belt area we have change two pullies and can't use the air-condition, when driving it gets louder and at times you don't hear it at all confusing my question is what could be making this noise?

ON A WORK VAN I DROVE, THE INNER PART OF THE A/C COMPRESSOR PULLEY WAS INTERMITTENTLY DRAGGING ON THE OUTER PULLEY----A/C CLUTCH ENGAGED OR NOT, IT STILL DID IT!

WE REPLACED THE A/C CLUTCH AND COMPRESSOR SPINDLE?(REAL NAME UNKNOWN), SHIMMING CORRECTLY WAS A TRICK!
