2001 Ford Escape High idle

My escape climbs to redline in park and neutral I put a new tps on it and it done the same thing I removed the new tps from the motor and left it hooked up it now idles at 2000 on start up and slowly drops to normal but if I touch the gas it climbs to redline what is causing this to happen

Try cleaning the throttle plate and icac hole with choke cleaner and check for a vacuum leak.

Did you check for a vacuum leak or not? It can be any grommet or hose cracked/off etc. The throttle plate h as to be cleaned on both sides also check for holes in air duct going to throttle as well as incorrectly installed. Scan for codes as well.

One other thing check for apartially plugged egr ports or the egr valve partially open as well.

Everything checks out no codses egr valve closed and opens when needs to be and no vacuum leaks
