Hi, I own a 2001 chevy malibu and a few days ago my rearview mirror came unglued and it was hanging from electrical wires overnight. The lights that are at the bottom of the rearview mirror are no longer working and one of the wires is out of the mirror housing. I was wondering how can I take apart the mirror and the housing and place back the wires so the lights work again. Do I have to disengage the electrical power in some way?

Any time you work on the electrical system in today's cars, I recommend disconnecting the battery. As far as the mirror, if I recall, everything is glued together. I believe you have to carefully pry the parts apart. There are no screws holding it together.

Check it and let me know.
