2000 Volkswagen Jetta Repair Question

What could it be wrong for the car to start sometimes and then go to start it again and will not start.
I have a 2000 vw jetta vr6 gls/ 2.8 liter, I have been having problems with the car starting. It will start and I drive somewhere and turn off the car and go to start it again and it will not turn over. Sometimes it will start after 10 minutes or so but now its getting worse like 20 to 30 minutes. I thought maybe the starter is going out but it doesnt make a click sound it just cranks and will not turn over. Please help me

Not sure you are explaining it correctly.
If the starter is cranking, the engine is turning... but it does not start?
or
The starter spins, engine does not turn over.

either a fuel problem or ignition problem, you need to check spark, fuel pressure and injection pulse, also a scan will help, this will show up any fault codes if set.
