My vauxhall vectra 2.0 (2000) wouldn't start last week. It had been fine up to this point. The battery seemed completely dead. I got a push and bumped it. The journey home took about 15 mins so I thought this should have put some charge in but when I turned engine off it would not start again. Luckily I live on a hill,so i managed to bump start it for a couple of days and could also park on a hill at work. However after a couple a days it would not even bump start and I had to get neighbour to start it with jump leads. He also lent me a spare battery that he said worked but was run down. We put this on my car and he used jump leads again to start it and I went for a 45 minute drive to see if this would charge it. When I returned I turned engine off and tried to start it again but... nothing, not even clicking, couldn't wind up electic windows and lights on but dim. Please help!!!!!

Get a helper disconnect a sparkplug wire or 2 and ground it to the engine atleast 3/16 away from ground-have helper crank engine over-do you have a snapping blue spark? If so-you have a fuel related problem, Do you hear the fuel pump come On when you turn key on? If not check fuel pump fuse and fuel pump relay if okay-check the fuel pressure to rule out the fuel filter/fuel pump/pressure regulator and listen to the injector/s are they pulsing or hook up a noid light. No snapping blue spark continue to troubleshoot the ignition system-power input to the coil/coil packs, coil's resistances, cap and rotor, distributor pick-up coil, ignition control module, cam and crank sensors and computer Note: If it doesn't apply disregard it and keep testing
