When I turn the key, I just hear clicks. IS this the battery or the starter?

Pretty hard to tell over a computer. The fastest way to know is to test the voltage at the starter while a helper tries to crank the engine. Test the voltage on the large battery cable. There are different versions of starter circuits on Fords. How many wires are there on the starter? Do you have a starter relay inside a fuse box under the hood or is there a relay bolted to the inner fender near the battery.
