2000 Dodge Intrepid high RPM

My car will start jumping/bucking down the road and the rmps will shoot up to almost 3500! I have had all the fluids checked and I had the cam sensor replaced but the problem is still there! I do all the work myself but I cant figure out what the problem could be! Can you help me?

Is the transmission performing normal or is the shifting erratic? Is the check engine light still on? This sounds like a transmission problem but I will need more information to be able to accurately answer you question.

The transmission functions normal and shifts fine! The check engine light never comes on even when the car will stall on the road or when the rpms go over 3500. The transmission fluid had been checked recently and the levels are fine.

Okay, what size engine do you have?

2.7, 3.2 or 3.5?
