I just checked my manual. The only engine I have listed for this vehicle is a 1.6L. For that engine, the manufacturer recommends the following:

10w30 above 0 degrees F.
5w30 if it is always below 50 degrees F or reaches below 0 Degrees F

It will hold 3.40 US quarts with a new oil filter.

Based on that information, 15w40 is too heavy, but it is the lightest weight you can get, so you have to use it unless you have the correct weight shipped to you. Is that an option?

Sir I have an EE80 toyota Corolla 1986, weather conditions of my area are -2 degree Celcius to 40 Celsius, I used the engine oil with viscosity 20W-50 but now someone told me that use a thinner oil as it is better and moves faster between parts, so I now poured an engine oil with viscosity 10W-40 in it, is it OK? Kindly give your opinion.

The colder the temps the thinner oil you should use. Refer to your owner's manual to determine the best choice for your conditions.

Actually my engine was rebuilt one month ago, installed new piston rings and head gasket. The engine was a little hard in starting, so I thought that using a little thin engine oil (10W-40) will be good. Please comment.
