1999 Mercury Sable stalls when I apply the brakes

1999 Mercury Sable mileage: 61,000. The car wants to stall every time brakes are applied, but not if you put the car in Neutral when coming to a stop.&Nbsp;Any help knowing anything might help. Thank you.
