Mileage: 125,000 miles.
Cold start
Year:1999
TdDi Endura engine
Mileage: 125 k
When it's cold, the engine start and works rough, after 15 minutes it's smooth like it should be,through the rest of the day.
Motor mount it's changed.
What part could it be?
Answer
More like the cold start is not working correctly.
Have you checked for trouble codes?
The engine works rough and shaking until it's warmed, that's the problem. I don't have any trouble codes through the scanner.
I couldn't get any information on your engine so I don't know if the valve have hydraulic or adjustable lifters. If it is adjustable, I would suggest checking/adjusting them.
Do you have coolant or overheating issues?
I will have to take it to the mechanic i guess. I don't have such issues, the radiator is new (replaced), everything is ok. Is there any heaters to change, or some other part that could lead to this?
Apart from the Engine Coolant Temperature sensor, there are nothing temperature related that I can think of that can cause the problem.
Glow plugs maybe? I haven't change them
The engine sounds good it shakes a bit inside the car when started but after 10 minutes driving theres is no shaking or anything. During the summer i haven't had such problems but now the cold starts and this showed up.
No, glow plugs would have starting difficulty if they are bad.
Yes, the ECT seems a possible candidate.
Where is the location of ECT?
Sorry I don't have any information on this vehicle so I can't tell you where it is located. For most vehicles it is at rear end of cylinder hear, near water outlet (thermostat housing).
