when I turn the AC on the temperature does not change

I have a 1999 Dodge Ram Sport 5.2L and the AC does not work,when I turn the AC on the temperature does not change so can you tell me what I can do to figure out this problem?

Does your ac compressor kick on when you turn the ac on?

I think the temperature blend door door is not working so I got a new one and installed it all good now thank you for the guide.

The blend door actuator controls the air flow from hot to cold and cold to hot.
It can fail due to normal wear and tear and typically will be stuck on the hot or cold side.
The blend door actuator is located on the side of the HVAC unit under the dash.
