I have a 1999 Suburban 1500 5.7 Engine 2WD AT, 220,000 miles. My question is, when I put the trans in gear after it has set for about 24 hrs it will start to roll forward but when I give it some gas the car doesn't move normal then engages and jumps and then will operate normally though all range of gears. Is this something that I can adjust or fix my self? Trans fluid is at normal level.

More than likely this is an issue with the transmission fluid pressure or level.

If the fluid level is low or in poor condition, then it will cause this issue so we need to start with this guide that will get us started:

If the fluid needs to be changed then here is a guide that will help with performing this.

Lastly to confirm that we have a pressure issue due to a pump issue we need to check the pressure.

Below you will find the process from the manual that will give the details needed to complete this.

Please run through this and let us know what questions you have.

Thanks
