Cranks but does not start until 2-3 attempts are made after engine is warm. How come?

1998 Toyota Tacoma 2.4 engine, 155,000 miles. Starts fine when cold. After running 2 - 3 short errands it will crank but not fire until 2-3 attempts have been made (Fuel pump was replaced 15,000 miles ago in 2008).

Is the check engine light on?

Have you checked fuel pressure?

Check engine light is for CAT. Pressure has not been checked, but if it is low would that be affecting the ability to start the engine when it's cold (starts right up every time) vs. When the engine is warm? P.S. Thank you for your quick reply!

The pump could be over heating. Slim chance but it is possible

I would also be concerned with the cat being clogged too.

Lets check the fuel pressure to rule that out and go from there. Do you have a pressure tester? If not you can rent them from autozone.
