I just replace my starter in 1998 Oldsmobile Truck Silhouette 3.4L SFI 6cyl and when I try too start the car I get a click and nothing had it tested at auto store and it passed and bat too was at 99.9 charge but if I jump it with a battery the starter works the only way it works but car just dies sometimes but when it dies the rpm gage up too 2k and I here a pop like a fues and idea on what going on

Have the charging system check to rule out the alternator to include the battery

Its not the alternator just had it checkand it passed

Have the starter motor load tested-test the park/neutral switch and ignition switch

Check the voltage at starter wire. Gm starters would have that problem. Its something in the starter.
