I have a 2001 olds silhouette with 87,000 miles that starts fine when cold but after a long drive it will not start if the engine has been shut down. It will start if the engine has cooled for 20-30 minutes. There are no fault lights at startup. I have seen other owners of this van have the exact same issue. Some have stated that their plugs and wires are new, and fuel pump is also new. I had techs go over this van and have found fuel pump to be ok and no fault codes set. I have had techs tell me it could be the ignition coil or a clogged cat converter. Any ideas?

If the cat is bad checking it with a vacuum gauge is easy, install the gauge at the manifold, watch the gauge as you run the engine at a steady 2000rpm, if gauge falls off, there is an exhaust restriction, but I dont think thats the problem, a bad coil, or bad crank sensor, or even a bad ECT(engine coolant temp) sensor would do it...when it wont start, does it have spark or not? Test for spark like this.
