Jeep Cherokee Engine Problem

Jeep all of a sudden started running hot, had a pin hole leak from the radiator hose, I fixed it, but the valves still tap as if it's running hot. could that be a caused by my thermostat going out?

no. how hot did you get the car?? the overheating could have caused damage

Valves tapping could also be a valve lash issue. Did you change the oil after the overheating issue?
