Disconnect the negative battery cable.
Raise and safely support the vehicle securely on jackstands.
Remove the front wheel(s).
Remove the lower control arm as outlined in this Section.
Drill a 0.118 inch (3mm) hole in each rivet retaining the ball joint to the control arm.
Drill a 0.354 inch (9mm) hole in each rivet to a depth of 0.472 inch (12mm).
Using a 0.275-0.314 inch (7-8mm) in diameter punch, knock the rivets out of the control arm and remove the ball joint.

To install:

Position the ball joint into the lower control arm.
Install three bolts and nuts (supplied with the replacement ball joint) into the rivet holes and tighten the nuts to 65 ft. Lbs (85 Nm).
Install the control arm into the vehicle.
Install the front wheel(s).
Lower the vehicle.
Connect the negative battery cable.
