I just bought a van and the problem with it is when I turn the engine off all the lights stay on and it kills the battery. So I have to get a boost or charge it. When I do turn it off I have to unhook the black battery cable. I was told the battery is brand new. I don't think it has anything to do with the alternator. I was also told that a pulley was replaced along with a serpentine belt. Any suggestions?

When you say all lights, are you referring to the interior, dash, exterior. ALL LIGHTS?

Sounds like the light relay is sticking or there is a problem in the switch itself. I would find the relay that lets the lights stay on for a short time. Before shutting off. Don't think it would be the drl relay but it is a thought. Check both relays. Question do the lights go on durying the day while you are driving? If sdo they are the drl lights.
