1998 Citroen Xsara Repair Question

The other day i was driving through town when my clutch peddle hit the floor its a cable clutch after replacing the cable the gearbox seems to be rubbing and not engaging but the cable is not tight its hard to even engage by hand. any ideas?

Have you checked the clutch adjustment, we do not have this car on the data base so i can't advise on adjustment procedure, but you normally allow only about 3-5mm free play at the the fork end.
