My 1998 Chevrolet Astro keeps sputtering we thought it was the fuel pump so we changed that, then the battery died so we bought a new one but still, it won't start we have no idea what could be wrong with it. Your help would be greatly appreciated :)

If it is cranking over and refuses to start do below for a start

Get a helper disconnect a spark plug wire or two and ground it to the engine at least 3/16 away from ground -have helper crank engine over-do you have a snapping blue spark? If so-you have a fuel related problem. Do you hear the fuel pump come on when you turn key on? If not check fuel pump fuse and fuel pump relay if so, check the fuel pressure to rule out the fuel filter/fuel pump/pressure regulator and listen to the injector/s are they pulsing or hook up a noid light. No snapping blue spark continue to troubleshoot the ignition system-power input to the coil/coil packs, coil's resistances, distributor pick-up coil, ignition control module, cam and crank sensors and computer.

After the replacing the pump and the battery it did turn over and stayed running for five minutes. After turning it off myself when trying to turn it back over ten minutes. Later cranks with no start. Also, got flames from the carburetor so I have spark. Thanks for all your help, this one is getting me.

Check the fuel pressure if it is within specs with a fuel pressure tester.
