engine will not start?

1998 Chevy Astro van: was working just fine; pulled the electric fuel pump fuse/relay assembly to check ; put it back now my van will not start. No longer hearing the fuel pump prime before it starts. The fuel pump would prime first, when it was working. I could hear the priming inside the fuel tank by just turning on the the ignition key to the on position. Now, that it is not working, I can not hear the pumb priming.

It sounds like you might have an issue with the fuel pump relay. Here is a tutorial showing how to test a relay:

I've attached a picture below of the location of the fuel pump relay which is located in the under hood fuse-relay box on your Astro van. Hope this helps and thanks for using 2CarPros.
