Car when started will shoot up to 2000 RPMs then drops down

Making it to where it wants to cut off but don't. Whats the problem?

The car will start but when started will shoot up to 2000 rpms and the drop down to where it wants to shut off but does not. Check engine light is not on and no codes are being thrown. The car does it every so often this is not a constant problem.

When its doing it have you looked for a vaccuum leak?

I would suggest cleaning the throttle body and IAC. If that fails, have the valve clearances checked and adjusted if necessary.
