Automatic shifting lever has been loose, today car stayed at 3000rpm and when put in park acted like it was still in gear. Will not start since it is shut off. What is wrong?

I guessing that your cable goin from your shift lever to your tranny is either stretched or broken so your computerthinks it still and gear. If it doesn't turn over at all its probably the cause

Check the shifter linkage. It sounds like the transmission is still in gear. As a result, the neutral safety switch won't allow the engine to start.

Let me know what you find.
