1997 Mitsubishi Other Repair Question

Clicking sound
My daughter bought a 1997 Spyder off Craigslist yesterday. As soon as she got it home it stopped working. The lights and radio come on but it won't turn over and there is a clicking sound under the hood. She called the man and he says there must be something wrong with the battery but he won't return her money. Any ideas what is wrong with this car?

If its not cranking over at all/nothing when you turn key to starting position-check the starter motor, starter relay, transmission position switch and ignition switch. Assuming the battery and connections are good
