Help with the head

I have a 97 jeep grand cherokee laredo 4.0 6cly that has an unthredded hole between the two back headbolts on drivers side and coolant coming out I need help on what this is the head was sent in to be machined and nobody knows what this hole is for!

Casting hole most likely but it sounds like you have a cracked head from your description.

I tapped it and plugged it. Runs like new. Thanks tho
