Jeep Grand Cherokee Coolant Problem

My car's temperature gauge is fluctuating between normal and redlined. The coolant is fine. The gauge just redlines for a few minutes then goes back to normal. What is it trying to tell me?

this can be a bad sensor gauge or a wire shorting to ground you'll have to have it checkd out also it may have a radiator or other problem you shold have it checked out

Does this help: When it redlines, the "Check Gauges" light flashes. The "Check engine" light does NOT come on.

no that doesn't help because that is what would happen when it relines, does it do it at a stop then when you move it goes back down? if it does it like that make sure coolant level is full and then check your rad iator for cold spots if there are then it need replacing.
