Hesitation

Hi there,

i've got a question regarding engine hesitation. My 97 cherokee 4.0 consistanly hesitates while acceleration until the engine temp reaches 220. When the hesitation occurs I let off the gas for a few seconds, then when gas is applied it will accelerate for a few seconds before hesitating again. This continues until the jeep has warmed up to optimum running temps, after that no hesitation occure at all. I've done the basics by changing out the plugs, wires, cap, and air filter. I know my catalytic converter is bad and will be changing this out along with the O2 sensors. My question is will the cat and O2 change fix this, or is there something else I should look for in addition with it being sensitive to colder temps. Other than this there is absolutley nothing wrong with the vehicle, it has been well cared for and is in excellent condition.

thanks

Check for vacuum leaks and check fuel pressure 47-51 psi at idle. Also convertercan caue hesitation and lack of power. Check vacuum at idle if 15" or below suspect converter
