Why would transmission go out of gear while driving and have to turn car off and restart to go again and happens very often.
Car will go out of gear while driving and have to be resgarted to put in drive again and it happens pretty quickly depending on how long it takes to shift

Do you have a check engine light on? If none have the transmission checked further by a tranny specialist

Is check engine light on? fluid level good?can you manualy shift to 1 and it stays ingear?

Check engine light is not on fluud is full and clean. When it goes out of gear none of rhe gears can be shifted to until I turn the car off and start it again. Then it repeats the same thing within 50 yds to a couple of miles.
