96 Jeep Grand Cherokee, 4.0 I6, stumbles, hesitates, backfires, no power, poor fuel mileage. Check engine light just came on and code P0132 is the only code. This indicates a bad O2 sensor, what else should I check?

Does it idle smooth?Does it sound like the engine is backing up?Is there a lot of exhaust coming out of the tail pipe?

Usually only acts up for about 15 minutes or so when cold, idles fine but when pressing accelerator it bucks sputters and backfires. Will occasionally do it when decelerating to a stop after warmed up, then idle seems to lope when in gear but will rev smoothly with accelerator when in neutral. Seems to emit about the normal amount of exhaust.

no smoke, just normal water vapor. Idles fine when cold doesn't start acting up until throttle application under load.
