It's really too late to be doing that now. I would stay with the regular oil. There would be no benefit and only downsides.

Sorry Wrenchtech, I don't totally agree. I would have before but I have had a few customers change over and has actually seems to have helped the engine. They said that the fuel milage has gone up not much only about 1 - 3 miles but now days thats good. These customers have kept up the regular maintenance schedule since they bought the vehicles and haven't had any major engine problems. And it has been about a year since they changed over. Oh, and one of them had a very light tapping and didn't want to do anything till it got worse but has since stopped since using synthetic oil. Wouldn't believe it if hadn't see it for myself.

With 185K on it now, it's on borrowed time and probably has a lot of sludge that shouldn't be disturbed. Making a change that substantial art this point make rock the boat a bit too much. I have my doubts about any benefits.

Won't synthetic " at this point" cause the seals to go bad, if thats a 4.0 in that jeep 184k is not even close to scrapyard im pushing 300k on mine. Btw I use 10w 40 no syntetic oil bad ju ju over 100k I was told.
