The steering column telescopic and height function does not work. How can I check to see if it is an electrical or mechanical problem?

RETRIEVINGÂ DIAGNOSTICÂ TROUBLEÂ CODES

1. Turn ignition off. Press MEMO button and both position buttons on DPMS switch simultaneously and hold down. Turn igni
second then release all buttons.
2. If no Diagnostic Trouble Codes (DTCs) are stored,  position setting button LEDs will only blink one 3 second long blink.
Digit of DTC is indicated by one second blinks.
3. Second digit of DTC is indicated by short (0.26 second) blinks. Each DTC is followed by a 3 second pause before anyÂ
Record all DTCs and see appropriate flow chart to locate cause of problem. See DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODE DEF
