So I have a 240sx and two days ago I turned it on and drove it about 100 yards and it died.

I assumed it was out of gas (the fuel gauge does not work so I wasent sure.) After putting 5 gallons in and tried it, it still would not start.

I then checked and replaced the spark plugs with all new ones, but still nothing, so then I thought there might be a problem with the fuel not getting to the engine since I was able to confirm that there was a spark.

I bought engine starting fluid and sprayed it it into the intake (4 short sprays) then attempted to start it and it did. However it then died after about 15 seconds.

I also checked the fuse for the fuel pump and it is fine.

the car will crank just fine it just will not turn over unless I use starting fluid and then it wont stay running for more than a few seconds.

do you think that the fuel pump needs to be replaced or what else would it be?

Thanks

Travis

Sounds like you need to check the fuel pressure to rule out a failing fuel pump-start here

If there is no fuel pressure that points to the fuel pump since the relay is alright, correct?

No fuel pressure-means the fuel pump is gone
