Well you can check to make sure the float is still attached to your fuel pump. In order to do this go into your trunk pull back the carpet on the passenger side and remove the two sheilds then there will be about 6 or 8 screws remove those. Make sure to keep all screws in bag or some kind of container. Then pull out your fuel pump it is kind of awkward to take out but just take your time. Then there is the float that looks like a plastic ballon make sure that is still attached. If it is not then it might have fallen off into the tank.
