1994 Nissan Maxima voltage regulators

Just hold my voltage regulator is bad, I don't know where to find it on the car. Is the voltage regulator and alternator all-in-one or are they separate? I need to find out so I can get this car up and running for my son. Please please please I need some help thank you

Thank you. Does that mean the alternator has the voltage regulator inside of it? O'rileys auto center said the regulator was $135.00 but the alternator was $80. Does that make sense or should I shop around. Also, could I do it myself? It's on the left side of the engine.

Shop around first pic shows alternator with voltage regulator inside. We have no instructions for removal on these so it may be pretty easy. Also shop around for parts and watch for brand names and or warranty most give a 1 yr warranty. Oh and never believe a parts guy on how to fix your car they never have made a living doing it. We have.
