My 1994 escort lx wagon is sick. It runs good when you get it started, but to get it to turn over you have to pump and pump until it is flooded then it will girggle to life. Is it an injector problem? The car has 80,000 miles. Please help. My leg is tired.

Interestingly enough, pumping the throttle on a fuel injected vehicle won't flud it. Based on your desctiption, it sounds like you have a leaking fuel injector, bad temp sensor, or a plugged air filter not allowing enough air to the engine.

If the check engine light is on, have the computer scanned. Most parts stores will do it for free. Also, if it has never had new plugs and wires, you may want to consider a tune up. The plugs could be worn as well as wires, distributor cap, rotor.
