Check engine light flashes four times within thirty seconds of cold startup

Engine rpm advances about 500 to a 1,000 rpm's within about ten to twenty seconds of flashing. After you drive awhile the engine has a misfire.

How old are the plugs and the rest of the ignition system?

Most cases, it is just replacing the basics for this.

Hello Roy,

New distributor not just cap, plugs, wires, computer, EGR valve, map sensor, MAF sensor, new throttle body, O2 sensor and a few others that I probably forgot.

Wow, lots of parts with no results.

I would back up and start with checking the compression check.
