My reverse and 1st gear recently quit working. What is the problem? Do I need a rebuild? Or is it something more simple. Please get back to me asap. I don't know if I should drive it. My power steering also is going out. Is there anything you can tell me about that? It don't squeak when I turn the wheel. Its a pain in the butt to turn while stopped but while accelerating it works like a champ

You probably checked the automatic transmission fluid level? Typically, the first gear is the first to fail because it is used the most in any transmission. Rebuild or replacement are usually close together in cost of repair. However, call around to trans shops to get an estimate, on repairs you may be surprised in cost differences in repair shops.

As for your power steering. Check the fluid level but most likely is failing also internally. Most vehicles are much easier to turn when it's in motion and hard from a stop. Before power steering assist the steering wheels are much larger to give more leverage to turn the steering wheel for that reason.
If you choose to repair the power steering I would recommend draining all the old fluid out completely as to not damage the new pump going in (damaged pumps often release metal particles into the fluid that will prematurely damage or shorten the new pump's life).
