Hello,

This sounds like the crankshaft angle sensor or the fuel pump has gone out, when you turn the key to the on position without cranking the engine over can you hear the fuel pump run in the tank for 5 seconds?

Please run down this guide and report back.

Thanks,

I have a good battery, alternator, and starter. Can push the car off and get it started or jump start but loses power or stalls out while driving.

Hi:
When you say it loses power, are you referring to electrical issues (you mentioned jump starting it) or does the engine lose power and just stall?

Also, is the check engine light staying on when the engine is running? If so, have you checked for diagnostic trouble codes? This vehicle has an OBD1 system which doesn't require a scanner to get codes. Here is a link that explains how to retrieve them.

Let me know.

Joe

Is the power getting cut to the fuel pump? If so, check to make sure there are no issues with a factor or aftermarket security system. Also, check to see if the vehicle will continue running if you run a power supply to the fuel pump.

i started up my suzuki sidekick and started driving, all of a sudden it just dies out. I try re starting it and it turns over but doesnt start. It is not sending spark thru the coil or ignition, and is not pumping gas. All the lights on the dash works as well as the radio. Could you please help me with this problem?

Ignition Signal (Sidekick & Swift)
Ignition signal is sent to ECM terminal A1 (terminal A12 on Swift DOHC or B2 on Swift SOHC) from ignition coil. On Sidekick and Swift SOHC, ECM detects engine speed through this signal and uses it to control various actuators. On Swift DOHC, ECM uses this signal to detect if ignition spark is emitted and stops injector operation when signal is not received.
