My car wont start without a pull. Changed out the starter and solenoid. It is a 92 ford escort gt. It will not even crank when I turn the key and depress the clutch. What could the problem stem from?

Thank you very much. I have just narrowed it down to ignition switch. Now hopefully I can make some progress.
