1988 Ford Ranger Repair Question

I have 1988 ford ranger STX 4X4 with a 2.9L V6 engine. I am having problems tracing down the wires that connect the fuel pump to the other components before it. The relay's are working, the inertia swith is working and the pump itself works; however ther

Fuel pump in tank is barely a year old, external pump works but was on the vehicle when we bought it.

here is a diagram. bu t it there is one on the frame then the one in the tank went bad maybe or the inertia switch or relay quit. but probabl the tank. it's easier if you have a few friends around to lift the box off teh truck andreplace fp that way.
