: AFTER WINTERING FOR 4 MONTHS I RESTARTED AND THERE WAS NO BRAKE FLUID IN THE RESEVOIR. REFILLED THE RESEVOIR, PUMPED THE BRAKES AND NOW I GET NO BRAKING UNTIL THE PEDAL IS PRACTICALLY ON THE FLOOR. A GARAGE HAS SAID I NEED NEW REAR BRAKE

What are the likely problems and what would a fair repair price look like?

Could be caused by an external leak-investigate-dunno the cost of repairs it varies with location

You have a leakage somewhere in the brake system and cost would depend on which component to repair/replace.

After topping up the fluids, you need to bleed the system to get some braking back. If leak is too bad, this would not work.
