Will not go in drive

When I try to put it in drive the little line where gear letters are gets stuck I am between neutral and in drive. Car will go in reverse gear and drive though?

Hello,

It sounds like the shift cable has gone bad or is frozen inside. I would disconnect it from the transmission and shift the selector by hand to see if that works.
